A member asked:

I was inactive for most of the past 8 months. many days i didnt leave my room, some i didnt even get out of bed. i dont exercise as much as i need to. can this cause inflammation in the lower back? what about high c-reactive protein and sed rate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

C-reactive protein and sedimentation rate are classified as "acute phase reactants" and are nonspecific markers for inflammation. Neither can confirm a diagnosis. Since many details are lacking, it is hard to interpret your history or to understand your almost complete inactivity. All of this needs to be handled by your local doctors. Psychological intervention would be useful.
