Not my rec: Aspirin does curb inflammation, but will not treat infection. I would put a triple antibiotic ointment there, and depending how bad it is, or if it doesn't get better, may need oral antibiotics. May take Ibuprofen or advil (ibuprofen) by mouth to help with inflammation. Crushing a non sterile pill intended for oral use and mixing with nonsterile water and applying to an open infected wound is not good.
