Appendectomy: You may be describing many different scenarios from a complication of wound healing from your surgery to an allergic reaction to any kind of dressings/ointments that were used during wound care to even a superficial infection of sorts (cellulitis or shingles). I would recommend that you call your surgeon's office and have it looked at promptly.
