Recently got filling in back bottom. they had to cut down into gum a bit. since then im getting mothball taste smell from that area when i touch behind the tooth and gum with tongue. cause? resolution?

Food and debris is accumulating around and under filling and gum. After brushing use a Waterpik to remove any left over debris and rinse with mouthwash.

There may be bacteria trapped under the gingival crest causing the odor. It would be a good idea to have your dentist re-evaluate the restoration and the surrounding tissue.
