If you had longstanding herpes at the time, your son was at little risk. The main risk is when mom catches genital HSV (either type) in last trimester. If infected, he could have had neonatal herpes, which is life threatening within the first week after delivery. If that didn't happen and he is well at this time, probably he was not infected. Are you sure your genital herpes is HSV2 (lab tested)?
