I went to ent for intermittent ear pain and itchiness & i have mild external otitis especially in left ear.he said that ear plugs i wear in sleep might be the cause.he gave me ointment and ear drops.should i avoid earplugs for some days or i can use?

If earplugs are indeed the culprit then you should stop using those for now until your ear canals are healed then you may use a new pair, and a different brand is preferred because contact dermatitis, rather than infection, could be the culprit. Good luck.
