A member asked:

Had c.diff from clynda/amoxi.combination 7 years ago, now prescribed ceftin for a mild nipple cellulitis.is there a safer antibiotic for cellulitis, unlikely to cause c diff again? nipple looks like getting better already w/o antibiotic?

Ceftin is not a common cause of C. difficile colitis but clindamycin is. If you think your nipples have improved without antibiotic then you can observe them for a day or two without antibiotic. However, if you decide to take ceftin, although the risk of C. diff colitis is low, you should stop it as soon as diarrhea occurs. Good luck with your decision.
