Sick for the entire month of july now. i caught human parainfluenza type 2 which caused bronchitis and a productive cough. finished 2 rounds antibiotics, amoxicillin then cefdinir. having tightness in chest at night & shallower breathing. why is this?

The viral infection will not respond to antibiotics. Your symptoms may be related to post viral inflammatory changes. A secondary bacterial infection may be present and a culture and imaging study are recommended. Discuss a trial of inhaled steroids and Albuterol with Healthtap or your PCP
