I had scoliosis surgery in 1998. i cannot locate any records and i would like to know if i can have mris done. i am brca-1 positive and being able to have an mri done could be life saving?

A simple x-ray of your spine or even a simple metal detector can show evidence of your having metal hardware from that surgery. Please discuss this with your doc.
