So i got up from sitting on the couch for a while and my back hurts when i move. it aches through to my chest but only if i twist or bend. i am fine when walking. pulse oxygen reads 98/99. can i still be having a pulmonary embolism?

This sounds like a musculoskeletal issue. A pulmonary embolus would not cause discomfort only when you twist and bend. This is more likely to be a pulled muscle that occurred after you were resting on the couch and you then got up. Try stretching the area gently. Acetaminophen or ibuprofen can also be helpful. You can also put heat or cold to the area, whichever feels better.
