There is so much misunderstanding about Ureaplasma! It is entirely normal in the genital tract and rarely causes symptoms. On rare instances, it causes nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) in men, but in general there is no need to test for it or to treat a positive result. Negative now means you don't have it at this time. Continued symptoms after treatment is evidence ureaplasma was not the cause.
