A member asked:

I have pain at back for 2 years and have small slipped disc. my doctor don't say to do something. but i have very little numbness and pain at back sometimes but not everyday. can slipped disc affect brain and memory?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A slipped disk can interfere with transfer of nerve messages back and forth from the area below the level of the disk. Numbness/pain/other changes are possible. It doesn't directly effect the brain or memory, although preoccupation with the changes will bother most people & make considering other things less clear.
