Geographic tongue is a condition in which the surface of the tongue appears to have irregular, red patches surrounded by white borders. These patches can change in size and shape over time, and they may be sensitive to certain foods or irritants. The white borders are not a sign of ringworm, but rather a normal part of the geographic tongue condition. Walnuts could exacerbate the symptoms.
