Oh so many things: Your problem may be allergic, traumatic (from improper oral hygiene), traumatic (from a sharp object), from viral, bacterial, or fungal infection, dentures in need of adjustment, smoking/vaping, etc, chemical or heat burn, etc. Please see your Dentist for an examination, differential diagnosis, and appropriate treatment plan.
