Ureaplasma is entirely normal in the genital tract, rarely causes symptoms, and therefore rarely requires treatment. On occasions it seems to be causing a problem, doxycycline usually is sufficient. Probably your symptoms did not clear up because ureaplasma wasn't causing them, not resistance to doxycycline. Clarify with your doctor, or consider an infectious diseases consultation.
