Alternative..: If the infection is still active despite taking doxycycline it might be possible that it is resistant to this specific antibiotic. Alternative treatment includes macrolides(like azythromycin), and fluoroquinolones(like monofloxacin). Discuss it with your medical provider in order to confirm infection and alternative antibiotic if needed.
