Why does it take up to 2 years for the body to get rid of genital warts? have had these lesions over a year now and they are still there. havent gotten them diagnosed but im assuming they are warts. wife is vaccinated no warts?

Different from flus or other systemic viruses that enter your blood, HPV strains are surface dwellers. They enter and grow in superficial skin layers with minimal exposure to the bodies immune surveillance system. Most clear in 2 years. I am aware of people who have had HPV wart strains that persisted for decades. You can have them frozen/acid killed or lasered off.

The development and disappearance of genital warts depends on the type of warts and personal immunity. The best thing is to be examined to be sure thats what it is or not. good luck
