Biliary colic is usually caused by gallstones or a dysfunction of the the gall bladder. It is episodic and not constant and can give rather severe pain. It is not a mild constant ache that never goes away. Certain foods especially fatty foods can make colic worse and more frequent.

Most often it is episodic, precipitated after a meal, usually associated with nausea/vomit. Take care.
