Pediatrician detected a heart murmur in 3 year old. she is seeing a cardiologist who ordered a electrocardiogram. is this test necessary since murmurs are common in children?

Echocardiograms are simple ways to provide a definite yes or no the need for further testing or other specialty care. Yes, murmurs are common, but if a cardiologist wanted an ultrasound on my kid I would want it done as soon as possible.
