If you have a ureteral stone which causes complete obstruction of the ureter by CT excretory urogram, stone should be visualized. If the stone is not seen, the obstruction may be caused by other ureteral lesion. Good luck with your surgery next month and I assume you currently have either a ureteral stent or nephrostomy tube for protecting the obstructed kidney.

If your ureter and kidney were totally obstructed then your Urologist wouldn't wait I month to do surgery . It could be a missed stone, clot, kink or some other thing . Always ask the details of what why and how when s doc tells you of some findings. Call your doc and ask her to explain findings.
