I got a cut from sharp end at a bus stop seat.it caused some bleeding not serious. i was alone there for a while but what if someone else got cut there the same way and there was blood on it (dry) will that put me at a risk of hiv?

You would not get HIV from the circumstance you describe. But, you should put some antibiotic ointment on the wound and keep it covered with a bandaid to avoid getting the cut infected. If there are signs of infection, like redness or opus, then have it looked at by a doctor. Good luck!

HIV cannot be transmitted through above mentioned mechanism unless fresh contaminated blood on the edge, the virus does not live on inanimate surfaces or in the air. There is still a risk for transmission for other germs and the wound should be watched closely until healed.
