I had tarsometatarsal fusion surgery seven days ago and discharged on a walking stick. my foot is now excruciatingly painful, badly bruised and hot to touch. is this normal? no discharge from wound. pain on weight bearing is almost unbearable?

You need to call your doctor and probably be seen ASAP to be certain you do not have an infection. If you were sent home weight-bearing then it really should not be unbearable to walk or hot to touch. So, call the surgeon and go over these symptoms-your surgeon will likely want to see and evaluate your foot. Good luck to you!

I cannot imagine weight bearing with such a surgery as quick as one week. Should be casted and not weight bearing for a minimum 4-6 weeks . Report back to the surgeon. If you have concerns seek 2nd opinion .
