A member asked:

What is the blunted calyces?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Calyces are structures in the kidney which collect urine and collect it in an area called the pelvis before it comes down into the bladder. On an xray/CT with contrast they appear concave. If this concavity is reduce (blunting) it is called blunting. This usually occurs due to an obstruction to the out flow of urine and some other conditions.
