A member asked:

Had a lymphnode removed under my arm about 4 years ago. it was 3cm in size but was determined to be just swollen, not malignant. now i am feeling a pea sized one under the same arm and some pain again. is it normal to have another swollen one again?

It is normal to have lymph nodes that are able to be felt (palpable), and sometimes they are tender. It is not unusual at all to develop new ones over time. If your lymph nodes are growing, or if you have any other associated symptoms, it is important to have them evaluated by your primary doctor. Good luck.

Majority of enlarged lymph nodes are reactive reflecting inflammation in the vicinity, further work up may be needed in better understanding the mechanism that is causing reappearance at same location. Your previous treating team remains your best reference at this point.
