There are many possibilities. It could be chest wall discomfort from the chest wall muscles, cartilage, bone. It could be from her heart. The only way to know would be to have a doctor evaluate her. She needs a physical exam and possible testing-like an EKG, X-rays, CT scan, etc. She may need to be evaluated by cardiology, depending on the results. So, have her evaluated ASAP by her doctor.

All details matter for her pain, specifically circumstances. While most of the time such pain proves to be musculoskeletal, work up typically starts with ruling out heart and/or lungs as possibly involved in the pain. Have her call her doc fir an office visit in order to have a good plan going forward.
