If the whooshing sound ( pulsatile tinnitus) started suddenly & only involves one ear,I recommend consulting an otolaryngologist for evaluation & advice. Appropriate testing will be ordered. Sinusitis can cause pressure in various parts of the head including behind the temple. Actual scalp tenderness would be unusual. The specialist can also address this symptom.
