A member asked:

Does multiple sclerosis have to be visible on an mri because i read that it takes 8 weeks from the attack to see a lesion, also i read that 5 out of 100 people with ms don't have any lesions?

these are approximate guesses. MS is variable and unpredictable. PL stay under care of your doc if you are suspected of it.

Stop trying to figure this out on your own. Rely on an experienced neurologist to work with you. What you have read is completely erroneous. An MS relapse is always associated with a new gadolinium positive T-1 lesion. Rarely, in isolated cases, BRAIN lesions are absent, and the lesions are within the SPINAL CORD solely. If you have clinically definite MS, join the local MS Society.
