It could be one of many things causing the rattle sound like weak airway however in view of the fact that he is otherwise doing well I would suggest that you discuss it with the Pediatrician at the 4 months visit. In the meantime make sure to burp well after feeding, do not place to sleep face down and make sure that no loose beddings or toy in the cot with him. Dust be reduced by damp cleaning.

The rattling sound may be recorded and shared during a Pediatrics visit or a virtual consulation with Healthtap. There are many causes, including mucus in the upper airway and if the sound is more prominent on inspiration and sounds 'croupy' , sometimes a 'floppy' airway is present. This usually resolves during the next 18 months. Was the sound present at birth? Watch for signs of distress.
