What is normal is dependent on the method used to measure it, and the number of “normal” people like you who were included in the folks used to set normal values. They vary by lab and method used. Only use normal values form the lab that did them. Get the book Clinical Epidemiology and study it. Will equip you to better understand medical measurements & decision making. Read with pencil/paper.

Yes, your platelets are slightly high, the range given by the lab should be used for decision making. Your doc remains best in better placing such values in context, usually serial counts are used to determine if trending.
