A member asked:

What is considered mild thrombocytosis (high platelet)? mine was 420k . the labs said normal goes up to 400k but heard normal can go up to 450k on some lab results. all other labs are normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your mildly elevated result may be due to iron deficiency, taking oral iron and multivitamins may help and it will not do any harm. Wish you good health!
