A member asked:

Platelet count was 130k/ul in november and in december count was 672k/ul is this normal to be low than jump so high in a 6 month old? we are repeating labs this month. what is the pediatrician looking for?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory/imaging results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, if the child had an intercurrent infection that can raise platelet counts. Wish you good health!
