In a 72 year old women with normal cbc, cmp and c reactive protein, would an esr of 54 be alarming? the test was run to rule out autoimmune causes of hearing loss. im worried about cancer. does this sound like cancer? thanks?

ESR is a test usually signaling non specific inflammation when elevated. Your ordering doc will be best to place your value in the context of hearing loss, actual physical exam and detailed history.
