There is no mucus in the urinary tract. When present in urinalysis, it means the specimen was not a good "clean catch" and includes some fluid from your cervix or labia. If your urinalysis is otherwise normal, nothing is wrong.

Mucuis is the secretion of the cells lining a hollow cavity or passage way. some minor irritation can cause excess secretion. Presence in urine is OK if otherwise normal.
