A member asked:

I currently do not have a spleen. how cautious should i be regarding infections or colds. for example, is a sore throat or fever something to go see a doctor for? i get conflicting data when searching online. thank you?

Without a spleen you are susceptible to certain infectious organisms, not all viruses or bacteria. You are recommended to take vaccines, if available, against those specific organisms. Please read this CDC link about this topic - https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/adults/rec-vac/health-conditions/asplenia.html
