Can you get staph from a cat and how? my cat has a leaking abscess, that im keeping clean. she is on antibiotics?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You can get Staph from any place there is a Staph infection. Therefor it is very important to keep the area clean where your cat has an infection and also to wash your hand thoroughly with soap and water after any touching of your cat. If the infected area leaks on any area of your skin that is perhaps dry or has a scrape or cut on it, that is how it could enter your body.
