Lexapro's manufacture lists UTI and urinary frequency as rare side effects. Post-marketing reports also have urinary retention listed. My patients have not reported this side effect to me in my practice. It would be important for a primary care physician to take a history and physical with at least a urinalysis/metabolic panel to rule out other causes of urinary frequency before changing meds
