It can be either constant or intermittent. Sometimes a tumor doesn’t bleed all the time so any blood in the stool should be seen by GI and investigated. If there is any blood in the stool, even microscopic, see a GI doctor for evaluation. You may need a colonoscopy. Good luck!

I agree with Dr. F' s advice that any blood in stool is abnormal and must be investigated to your physician's satisfaction. Typically hemorrhoidal bleeding comes and goes but bleeding from colon cancer is more apt to continue and even worsen. However, there are no guarantees.
