No: All lesions of bowel whether in rt. of left colon are relatively vascular. When fecal material passes over a tumor it can induce bleeding. Tumors on the rt. side of the bowel have liquid feces passing over them and tend not to bleed whereas tumors on the left side having firm fecal material passing over can be induced to bleed. Bleeding as such for the most part is a mechanical issue.

Not always.: Early in colon cancer, there are typically NO symptoms until the cancer tumor grows large enough that it begins to cause problems in the digestive tract. Small, asymptomatic cancers can be found by screening colonoscopy. Larger tumors may cause changes in bowel habits (diarrhea/constipation/change in consistency of stool), blood in stool, unexplained weight loss, weakness/fatigue, persistent pain
