The fillings were probably large and deep, near the nerves of the teeth causing this sensitivity to cold. A protective base was probably put in the tooth before the filling and in another 5 or more days it should subside. Did your dentist tell you to expect this sensitivity?

Most likely a deep restoration. Your dentist is trying to prevent the need for root canal therapy on a deep carious lesion. Give it a week or two and return for a post op visit if the discomfort continues.

You had surgery. A diseased part of your body was surgically removed and replaced materials to seal and heal the surgical site. It will heal. If the damage caused by the infection was too severe, and the symptoms worsen, it is possible that additional surgery (root canal treatment or extraction) may be necessary. In the meantime avoid food at irritating temperatures.
