Teeth are sometimes sensitive for a short while after a new restoration, especially if the new restoration was deep. In addition, the bite may be a touch high which will also cause your symptoms. Have your dentist take a look.

Filling may be as little as the thickness of a piece of paper "high" requiring a simple adjustment by your Dentist. If filling was deep, nerve of tooth may be damaged and may require root canal treatment. More often, however, you will just have to depend on OTC analgesics for a few weeks as sensitivity diminishes. In the meantime 1) CALL YOUR DENTIST, 2) Soft high-protein diet, 3) Avoid hot/cold
