What percentage of people with diverticulosis will become diverticulitis ? there are many studies that have different predictions (ranges between 5% - 25%) but from your medical experience, what would be your assumption?

By UPTODATE: "approximately 4 to 15 percent of patients with diverticulosis develop diverticulitis. The incidence of diverticulitis increases with age". Unfortunately, we could not base on medical experience for this prediction. Take care.

There is such variation due to not knowing who and why some develop diverticuliti even with experience no accurate assumption/predictions can be made. So live a healthy life style and dont worry about such things. All the best
