It will likely help for a while to keep the bacteria counts in your urine low and this should decrease your infections. However, eventually the bacteria will get resistant to this antibiotic and then the bacteria counts will go back up. A different antibiotic will then be needed if another infection ensues. Urology may be able to help decrease your infections. Good luck!
