It depends what problem you are taking benzo for and what withdrawal symptoms you experience when weaning off a benzo drug. If SSRI can be effective against those symptoms then it's worth a trial. Good luck.

The two medications belong to different drug classes and are not typically used together to assist in tapering off one of them. Since there could be withdrawal risks, such as seizures, if you abruptly stop a high-dose benzodiazepine, your doctor will need to get directly involved to be safe.
