I had a ct scan of brain and neck. i was inside ct scan for 20 minutes. is this normal amount of time?. i asked how long it would take before laying down, they said three minutes. but it was 20. now im worried about being iinside and radiation?

Typically takes 3 to 5 minutes for a CT scan. If there is motion or an entire area needed for the x-ray was not caught in the image, it could take longer. Your physician who’s reading the x-ray should let you know if there is problems with the CT scan itself

I had a CTA of the brain and neck with contrast. The CT looked more like a capsule. It was not an MRI. I was in it for at least 25 minutes. At the end technician said we will now release contrast. Is it normal to be inside CT for that long?
