There are multiple causes for these symptoms currently. It could be flu, but it can also be Covid, or RSV. You should test to see which of these it is (or to rule them out). The importance of testing is that if you can show a positive test, there are treatments for Covid and Influenza which can dramatically reduce complications and hospitalizations in persons over 50.
