A member asked:

Will short term of high dose intravenous methylprednisolone cause skin atrophy (thining of skin) by inhibiting collagen synthesis and is it reversible?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Short term is a vague word; however it is reversible skin atrophy. The use of high dose IV methylprednisolone, when used, is because of life threatening situations. The side effects is beyond just skin atrophy and the benefits most be justifiable to not consider other even more serious side effects.
