I do not know: Can not really diagnose for definite without a test, so I do not know if you have mono or strep, or a basic Viral or bacterial infection. See your Dr. and get properly tested to be sure. best wishes.

Head ache: It is does not matter whether it is mono or strep. If the headache is severe you need to have an exam as soon as possible to rule out any meningeal irritation.

Cannot tell: Cannot say definitively based on only the info provided. However it is possible that it is strep, you just got diagnosed, so you need to give it 48 hrs on the antibiotics to see if you improve. Why were you given Medrol (methylprednisolone)? Not typically treatment for strep.
