Maybe and Yes : Yes to the second questions. Localized skin atrophy can be a side effect of cortisone type medications when injected locally. Image guidance, choice of steroid formulation & technique can minimize the risk, but does not eliminate it. It may improve with time. In a few of my own patients, i've had excellent results with dermal fillers injected by plastic surgeon or dermatologist.
