A little confusion on this: is choledocholithiasis a small bile duct disease or is it a large bile duct disease?

Choledocholithiasis simply means a stone in the common bile duct. It does not specify what size the duct is. Cholelithiasis is when the gallstones are still remaining in the gallbladder itself. Good luck.

3 months ago my brother had a bile duct obstruction caused by a gallstone so 25 days later he was treated with ERCP and the stone was extracted. He had no past issues with liver. My only question is, will Choledocholithiasis cause liver cirrhosis?
