It could be due to muscle or tendon strain due to kicking but hernia can't be ruled out. If you do not observe and feeling any bump when straining, the former condition is likely. You just have to refrain from martial activity or any activity which exacerbates the pain, apply local warm pack and take tylenol or ibupofen, prn. See you doctor for a thorough exam if symptoms do not abate after 3 days
